Sam Weatherill

Sam was born and raised in Brighton and holds a WSET Diploma in Wine (Merit), is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, and an associate member of the Academy of Cheese.

Sam has previously been a judge at the Sommelier Wine Awards and appeared on 67 Pall Mall TV's The Perfect Match. He does regular video features on instagram focussing on UK wines, and wines made from esoteric and unusual grape varieties and lesser seen regions.

Sam looks after the wine programme at Etch by Steven Edwards, winning the IWC 'Wine List of the Year - Contemporary' in 2023, and Star Wine List's 'Best Medium Sized Wine List UK' in 2024. The He also runs Zest Wine Club, a monthly pop up wine tasting event, based in Brighton.

He came into the wine trade late on, after studying economics and subsequently completing a MA in Corruption and Governance.
